Mike Van Ryn is a Canadian defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Van Ryn was drafted by the New Jersey Devils 26th overall in 1998. He played another year of college hockey at the University of Michigan, before moving on to the minors. He signed with the St. Louis Blues in 2000, and spent parts of the next three seasons between the Blues and their AHL affiliates. He was traded to Florida in 2003, where he developed into a premier offensive defenseman, scoring 37 points in both of his first two seasons with Florida. He was traded to Toronto in 2008.
