David Hale is an American defenseman on the Ottawa Senators.
Hale was drafted by New Jersey in 2000, 22nd overall. He made his NHL debut in 2003, with the New Jersey Devils, spending the next two seasons with the team. He posted the best plus/minus rating of his career in his rookie season, with an impressive +12. He was traded to Calgary in 2007, and played 69 games with the Flames over parts of two seasons. He spent 2008-09 with the Phoenix Coyotes, scoring a career high 9 points, despite posting the lowest plus/minus rating of his career, -11. He was signed by Tampa Bay in 2009, and played 39 games with them in 2009-10, scoring 4 points. He was signed by Ottawa during the 2010 offseason.
