Steve Staios

Steve Staios is a Canadian defenseman on the Calgary Flames.

Staios was drafted by the St. Louis Blues 27th overall in 1991. He made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins in 1995, and was traded to Vancouver in 1997. He spent three seasons in Vancouver before being picked by Atlanta in the 1999 Expansion Draft. He joined the Oilers in 2001, and has been a consistent contributor ever since. In 2003-04 and 2004-05, he set career highs with 28 points in both seasons. he saw his production steadily decline over the next three seasons with Edmonton, and he was traded to Calgary at the trade deadline in 2010.

Staios won a silver medal at the 2008 World Championships with Team Canada.
