Steve Begin is a Canadian center on the Boston Bruins.
Begin was drafted by Calgary in 1996, and joined the Flames the following season in 1997. Begin never really found a groove with the Flames, and was traded to Montreal in 2003, after a poor season in which he scored only 4 points in 50 games. In Montreal, Begin’s physical play and hustle made him popular, and he had his best season in 2005-06, when he finished with 23 points, a +9 rating and 113 penalty minutes. In 2008-09, Begin was traded to Dallas after playing 42 games with the Canadiens, in which he scored 10 points. In his 20 games with Dallas at the end of the season, Begin scored only 3 points. Dallas failed to make the playoffs, and Begin signed with the Bruins on the first day of free agency in 2009.
