Francois Beauchemin is a Canadian defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Beauchemin was drafted by Montreal in 1999, and played one game with the Canadiens before being returned to the minors. In 2005, he was signed by Columbus, and played 11 games before being traded to Anaheim. He was a member of the Stanley Cup winning team in 2006-07. In 2007-08, Beauchemin played the first full season of his career, playing in all 82 games and recording 2 goals, 21 points and 59 penalty minutes. In ‘08-09, he missed all but 20 games with a torn ACL, but was able to play in the postseason. In the 2009 offseason, Beauchemin was signed to a three year contract by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
