Brendan Morrison is a Canadian center on the Washington Capitals.

Morrison was drafted in 1993 by the New Jersey Devils. He then played his college hockey at the University of Michigan, winning an NCAA title in 1996. He played two seasons with New Jersey before being traded to Vancouver in 1999. In Vancouver, he became one of the premier centers on the team, setting career highs with 25 goals, 46 assists and 71 points in 2001. Morrison was recognized as the league’s reigning ironman, playing in 542 straight contests without missing a game from February 27, 2000 until December 12, 2007. Morrison signed with Anaheim during the 2008 offseason. Morrison performed poorly with the Ducks, scoring only 22 points in 62 games. He was placed on waivers and picked up by Dallas near the trade deadline in 2009. He finished the season with the Stars, scoring 6 goals and 9 points in 19 games, and became a free agent. He signed with the Capitals in the 2009 offseason, and is expected to challenge for the spot as center on the 2nd line. After the worst season of his career, Morrison should bounce back while playing on an offensively stacked Capitals team.

Morrison has played for Team Canada at the 2000, 2004 and 2005 World Championships, winning gold in 2004 and silver in 2005.
