Derek Roy is a Canadian center on the Buffalo Sabres.

Roy was drafted by Buffalo in 2001, after playing in the OHL, and winning the rookie of the year trophy in 2000. He played 49 games with the Sabres in ’03-04, recording 19 points. After the lockout, Roy continued to steadily improve his play, setting career highs in ’07-08 with 32 goals and 81 points.

Roy played for Team Canada at the 2003 World Junior Championships and the 2008 World Championships, winning two silver medals.
