Brent Burns is a Canadian defenseman on the Minnesota Wild.
Burns was drafted 20th overall by Minnesota in 2002. He broke into the league the following season, and has developed into a staple on the Wild defensive corps. He set career highs last season with 15 goals and 28 assists for 43 points in 82 games.
Burns played for Team Canada at the 2008 World Championships, where he won the tournament award for best defenseman.
