Samuel Pahlsson
Samuel Pahlsson is a Swedish center on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Pahlsson was drafted by Colorado in 1996, but continued playing in the Elitserien with MODO Hockey until 2000, when he played 17 games with the Boston Bruins, who had acquired him in a trade which sent superstar Ray Bourque to Colorado. He was traded again to Anaheim in 2000. Over the past 8 seasons, he has developed into one of the top defensive forwards in the league, and was nominated for the Selke Trophy in 2007, when he helped the Ducks win the Stanley Cup. Pahlsson was traded to Chicago at the trade deadline, for James Wisniewski, as Anaheim added to their defensive depth and the Blackhawks looked to improve their depth at center. In 13 games with Chicago at the end of the season, Pahlsson scored 2 goals and 3 points. In 17 playoff games, Pahlsson had 2 more goals and 5 points as the Blackhawks advanced to the Western Conference Finals. At the end of the season, he became a free agent, and signed with the Blue Jackets.
Pahlsson won a gold medal with Sweden at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
