Anders Eriksson
Anders Eriksson is a Swedish defenseman on the New York Rangers.
Eriksson was drafted in 1993 by Detroit. He continued playing with MODO Hockey of the Swedish Elitserien for three seasons. He joined the Red Wings in 1995, and won his first Stanley Cup with Detroit in 1998. He was traded to Chicago in 1998, and spent three seasons with the Blackhawks. He spent a season with Florida in 2001, and then played 38 games over the next two seasons with Toronto. He then played with Columbus for a season, before leaving the NHL for two seasons. He played a season with HV71 of the Elitserien, and a season with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in Russia. He returned to Columbus in 2006, and was traded to Calgary for the 2007-08 season. He played 61 games with the Flames and had one goal and 18 points. He began the 2009-10 season in Phoenix, but was traded to New York midway through the year. He appeared in just 8 games for the Rangers last year, and with their recent additions to the forward roster, it is unlikely he'll get much more playing time with the club this year.
Eriksson played for Sweden at the 1994 and 1995 World Junior Championships, as well as the 1999 World Championships. He won a silver medal in 1994, and bronze at the other two tournaments.
