Rene Bourque
Rene Bourque is a Canadian left winger on the Calgary Flames.
Bourque was undrafted after his college career at the University of Wisconsin. He signed with Chicago before the 2004-05 lockout, and spent the season in the AHL, where he played in the All-Star game and finished with 60 points. He joined the Blackhawks the next season, and had his best statistical season in his rookie year, with 16 goals and 34 points. The next two seasons he suffered a number of injuries, including a life-threatening slice to his neck by the skate blade of another player. The skate nicked his jugular but did not sever it, luckily preserving his life. Bourque was traded to Calgary in the 2008 offseason.
