Tom Poti
Tom Poti is an American defenseman on the Washington Capitals.
Poti was drafted by Edmonton in 1996, before playing two seasons with the Boston University Terriers. He played with Edmonton from 1998 until 2002, when he was traded to the New York Rangers at the traded deadline. Poti had his best season in the following year, playing 80 games and recording 11 goals and 48 points. Poti was unliked in New York, and signed with the Islanders in 2006, where he had another successful season in 2006-07. He signed a four year deal with Washington in 2007, and adds veteran depth to a talented young defensive corps.
Poti has played for Team USA on a number of occasions, winning a silver medal at the 2002 Olympics.
