Mike Weaver

Mike Weaver is a Canadian defenseman on the Florida Panthers.

Weaver was undrafted after playing four seasons with the Michigan State Spartans. Despite his impressive play at MSU, Weaver was undrafted at the end of his college career, and signed with Atlanta in 2000. Weaver saw limited ice time during four seasons in Atlanta, spending most of the 2001-04 seasons with the Chicago Wolves, winning a Calder Cup along the way. Weaver saw his first real ice time, after signing with Los Angeles after the lockout, tallying 9 points in 53 games in 2005-06. He would play two seasons in LA before signing with Pittsburgh. Before ever playing a game with the Penguins, he was placed on waivers and signed with Vancouver for the 2007-08 season. He signed with St. Louis in the 2008 offseason.and played two years with the Blues, scoring 17 points with the club. He signed with Florida during the 2010 offseason, and will compete for a roster spot at the 2010 training camp.
