Jay McKee is a Canadian defenseman on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

McKee was drafted in the 1st round in 1995 by Buffalo, where he made a name for himself as one of the top defensemen in the NHL, with his size and fearless shotblocking ability. McKee helped the Sabres to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1999, where they lost ot the Dallas Stars. He signed with St. Louis in 2006, but missed most of his first season with a number of injuries. McKee has been one of the Blues' top defensemen for the past three seasons, and has been among the league leaders in blocked shots and hits for most of his career. In 2009, St. Louis bought out his contract, making him a free agent. After Pittsburgh lost Rob Scuderi and Hal Gill to free agency, they needed another solid defenseman, and signed McKee to a one year deal.
