Manny Legace
Manny Legace is a Canadian goalie on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Legace was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1993. By the time he made it to the NHL, he had been traded to Los Angeles. He played 17 games with LA in 1998-99, and signed with Detroit the following season. He spent most of the next six seasons between backing up Chris Osgood, Curtis Joseph and Dominik Hasek and filling in as a starter when one of them was injured. In 2005-06, Legace played 51 games, winning 37 of them and recording a 2.19 GAA.
In 2006-07, Legace was signed by St. Louis, and has been the starting goalie for the past two seasons. He made his first All-Star game in 2008, winning 27 games with a 2.41 GAA. When Carolina had a number of goalies go down with injury, Legace was signed to be the backup in Carolina and he won 10 of 24 starts before the Canes' regular keepers came back to health.
