Erik Johnson is an American defenseman on the St. Louis Blues.
Johnson was drafted first overall in 2006, by St. Louis after playing in the US National Team Development Program for two seasons. He played a season in the NCAA with the University of Minnesota before making his NHL debut in 2007-08. He scored 5 goals and 33 points n his rookie season.
Johnson played for Team USA at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 World Junior Championships, winning gold medals in 2005 and 2006. He was also named the best American player in International Competition, as well as winning the Best defenseman award at the 2007 tournament. He played for Team USA at the 2007 World Hockey Championships as well.
