Dmitri Makarov

Dmitri Makarov is a Russian forward on Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

Makarov began his career with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, making his Super League debut with the club in 2002. He played the next three years in the club’s system, splitting time between the Russian Third and Super Leagues. He was traded to Salavat Yulaev Ufa midway through 2004-05, and played the next two seasons with the club. He had a breakout season in 2005-06, scoring 15 goals and 28 points, as well as 96 penalty minutes. He joined Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in 2007-08, and had a career year, notching 35 points and 159 penalty minutes.
