Vadim Tarasov
Vadim Tarasov is a Kazakh-Russian goalie on Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
Tarasov was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1999, after posting an incredible 1.43 GAA over 41 games in his 4th season in the Super League with Metallurg Novokuznetsk. He won the league's top goalie award that year, and repeated the feat in 2000 and 2001. He played part of one season in the Canadiens' AHL system, but returned to Metallurg Novokuznetsk after just 14 games. He played three seasons with Salavat Yulaev Ufa between 2006 and 2009, winning the league championship with the club in 2008, after posting a 1.88 GAA in 17 starts. He spent 2009-10 with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk before re-joining his old club in Novokuznetsk in 2010.
