Andrei Esipov
Andrei Esipov is a Russian defenseman on Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
Esipov began his pro career at the age of 16 when he joined Krylia Sovetov in the Super League during the 1996-97 season. He played parts of two seasons with the club before joining Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in 1999, and played the next three years with the team before being traded to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod near the end of the 2001-02 season. He then played the next four seasons with Lada Togliatti, where he saw more regular ice time and played over 40 games for the first time. He was traded to Metallurg Novokuznetsk in 2005, and played two years with the team before joining Severstal Cherepovets in 2007. After a season and a half with the club, he was reacquired by Lada Togliatti, where he played until 2010. He signed with Metallurg Novokuznetsk during the 2010 offseason.
Esipov won a silver medal at the 2000 World Juniors with Team Russia.
