Vladimir Gusev
Vladimir Gusev is a Russian defenseman on Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
Gusev was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2001, after a strong outing at the 2000 U18 World Juniors. He played two years with Sibir Novosibirsk in the Second League before coming to the ECHL in 2003. He played three seasons with a number of minor league teams before returning to Russia with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. He played just 7 games with the team before being traded to Metallurg Novokuznetsk. He started the next season with HC Sibir Novosibirsk, but was again traded to Novokuznetsk, where he's played the last four seasons. In 2008-09, he set a career high with 77 penalty minutes.
