Evgeny Bumagin is a Kazakh right winger on Barys Astana.
Bumagin was drafted in 2000 by the Detroit Red Wings after scoring 23 goals and 40 points in the Russian Third League with Lada Togliatti-2. He never left Europe, though, and played three seasons in Kazakhstan before making his Super League debut with Sibir Novosibirsk in 2006. He joined Lada Togliatti the following season, but played just 24 games before being demoted to the Second League again. he spent the season with Barys Astana, scoring 26 points, and earning himself a KHL contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk. He had 14 points over two seasons with the team before returning to Barys Astana in 2010.
