Rodrigo Lavins is a Latvian defenseman on Dinamo Riga.

Lavins is one of the most experienced players on Dinamo Riga, having begun his pro career in 1992 with Pardaugava Riga in the Russian Super League. He had 7 points and 20 penalty minutes in his rookie season, and played another year with the club before heading to North America, where he played four seasons with various semi-pro teams. He split 1998-99 between the Elitserien and SM-Liiga, beginning with AIK and finishing the season with Jokerit. He then played the next season with Ilves and HPK in Finland before heading to Germany for a season. He played the next two years in Russia, first with Molot-Prikamie Perm, then with Dynamo Moscow. In 2003, he returned to Latvia with HK Riga 2000, and put up 6 goals and 27 points with the club in 2004-05. He played 2005-06 with Brynas in the Elitserien, and remained with the club for the next season as well. He began the next year with Sodertalje but was traded to Metallurg Novokuznetsk near the end of the season. He signed with Dinamo Riga in 2008, and was named team captain. He was demoted to an alternate captaincy in 2009.
