Karel Rachunek is a Czech defenseman on Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

Rachunek was drafted in 1997 by the Ottawa Senators after putting up 13 points with HC Zlin's junior team. He played two seasons in the Czech Extraliga before joining the Senators in 1999. He had a career high 33 points with the Senators in his first full season in 2000-01, and would play another two years with the Sens before being traded to the New York Rangers in 2004. He played in Russia with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl during the NHL lockout in 2004-05, and remained with the team in 2005-06, putting up 31 points and 73 penalty minutes before returning to the Rangers in 2006. He spent 2007-08 with the New Jersey Devils, but returned to Russia in 2008, spending the next two seasons with Dyanmo Moscow before re-signing with Yaroslavl in 2010.

Rachunek won a gold medal with the Czech Republic at the 2010 World Championships.
