Nikita Alekseev
Nikita Alekseev is a Russian right winger on Ak Bars Kazan.
Alekseev was once a highly touted prospect in the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, drafted 8th overall in 2000, after scoring 24 goals and 53 points in the OHL. He spent another season with the Erie Otters, using his 6'5, 227 pound frame to score 31 goals and 72 points. He never made a serious impact in the NHL, however, playing just 156 games between 2001 and 2007, accumulating 20 goals and 37 points. He spent 2005-06 with Avangard Omsk, and returned to Russia after the 2006-07 season, signing with Ak Bars Kazan in 2007. He scored 8 goals and 15 points in 2008-09, helping the team win the first Gagarin Cup, and was part of the team's second Cup championship in 2010.
