Oleg Kvasha
Oleg Kvasha is a Russian center on Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
Kvasha was drafted 65th overall by the Florida Panthers in 1996, after playing his first full year with CSKA Moscow. He spent another year with the team and scored 20 goals and 42 points, along with 115 penalty minutes. He came to North America the following season and joined the Panthers in 1998, scoring 12 goals and 25 points in his rookie season. He put up 25 points again the next year, but was acquired by the New York Islanders in 2000. He had the best years of his NHL career with the Islanders prior to the lockout in 2004-05, scoring 38 points in 2001-02, and setting a career high with 15 goals and 51 points in 2003-04. He came back to the Islanders after spending the lockout with CSKA Moscow, but was traded to Phoenix at the trade deadline. During the offseason, he opted to return to Russia, where he signed with Vityaz Chekhov for two seasons. He then spent a season with both Traktor Chelyabinsk and HK Atlant before joining Metallurg Magnitogorsk in 2010.
Kvasha has played for Russia at numerous tournaments and won bronze medals at the 1997 World Juniors and 2002 Olympic Games, as well as a silver medal at the 1998 World Juniors.
