Ilya Proskuryakov
Ilya Proskuryakov is a Russian goalie on Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
Proskuryakov has been in the Magnitogorsk system since 2003, when he joined Metallurg-2 in the Hockey First League in Russia. He made his professional debut with the senior team in 2005, but spent the next two years back in juniors. In 2009, he won the KHL's Rookie of the Year Award after getting a chance to fill in for starter Andrei Mezin when he went down with an injury. In 40 games, the rookie keeper racked up a .912 save percentage and 2.35 GAA. He had another great year in 2009-10, posting a 1.92 GAA and .927 save percentage in 32 games. In 2009, he became the first goalie to score a goal in the KHL, when he scored on an empty net in January.
