Vladimir Malenkykh

Vladimir Malenkykh is a Russian defenseman on Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

Malenkykh was drafted in 1999 by the Pittsburgh Penguins after scoring 9 points and 68 penalty minutes wiith Lada Togliatti's junior club in Russia. He never made the transition to North America, spending another six years with Lada Togliatti . In 2005, he was picked up by Metallurg Magnitogorsk, where he turned into a much more reliable defender. In 2006-07, he had a career year, scoring 12 points and 92 penalty minutes, helping the club win the league title. He has remained with Magnitogorsk ever since.
