Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking to get their IPL 2013 season back on track when high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad visit the Eden Gardens for their match on Sunday, April 14.
The Kolkata Knight Riders had started off with a win. However, the team have suffered successive defeats in their last couple of games which does not bode well for the franchise.
There is a need to buck up and perform to their potential. Skipper Gautam Gambhir is the sole man in this team who has been playing well.
Jacques Kallis showed signs of improvement in the last match but got out playing a rash shot. M Bisla is set to be dropped with Brendon McCullum waiting in the wings after successfully recovering from a hamstring pull.
Manoj Tiwary is in good form and is due a good innings while Yusuf Pathan showed sparks of his brilliance against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match. Sunil Narine, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Shami Ahmed and Rajat Bhatia are set to feature.
The spot for the fourth foreigner will be a three man fight between Bret Lee, Eoin Morgan, and Sachithra Senanayake.
Sunrisers Hyderabad go into this match after narrowly winning their match against the Delhi Daredevils.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been performing well under the leadership of Kumar Sangakkara this season. Their main strength so far has lay in their bowling department which boasts the likes of Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, and Thisara Perera.
The quartet has been excellent so far in this season of the IPL. Sikhar Dhawan has been sorely missed with the bat so far and it will be interesting to see if he makes the lineup. However, the likes of Cameron White, Sangakkara, Parthiv Patel, Hanuma Vihari, and Perera are all decent batsmen who can win matches.
Expect the spinners to play a big role in this match.
