South Africa v Pakistan 2nd Test preview at Cape Town

After winning the first test comfortably, South Africa face Pakistan one more time, in the second Test of the series.

After winning the first test comfortably, South Africa face Pakistan one more time, in the second Test of the series. The venue this time is Cape Town.

Pakistani team’s technical frailties were seriously exposed in the last match. They, as usual, found it tough to negotiate pace, seam and swing.

However, as critics and fans say, they are the most unpredictable team of the whole lot, and thus they always have some ability to bounce back and inflict an upset on the opposition.

In order to give tough time to the Proteas, Pakistanis will be hoping that conditions aren’t as bowling-friendly as they were at Johannesburg.

Plus, the batsmen will be more confident to manage the conditions, as they have the practice of two tour matches and a fully fledged test match in South Africa.

Only one major change is expected in the Pakistani lineup tomorrow, it is very likely that Mohammed Irfan will get his test cap tomorrow.

However, Tanvir Ahmed is also an adequate choice, considering the fitness level of Irfan. Rahat Ali will most probably be the man to sit out.

On the other hand, the Proteas have halted the rotation policy of their bowlers, and they are likely to take the field with the same XI that featured in the previous test.

All of their players know their job in the team, and that makes South Africans, the most formidable cricketing force of recent times.

Robin Peterson, who was not involved much in the previous match with his bowling, will have an important role to play in the upcoming encounter.

With sun beating down in Cape Town from about three days, a dry surface, not much to the liking of the Proteas, is very happening.

Pakistani batsmen will be taking a sigh of relief on this news. This pitch might well be the best they can get on this tour, so they will be hoping to take advantage of the conditions.

Hence, a more even contest is expected between the two test sides, tomorrow.
