Sri Lanka side
For the first three One day Internationals against India, the selectors of Sri Lanka have maintained the 15-man team that defeated Pakistan 2-1. In the series against Pakistan, Tillakaratne Dilshan was promoted as the opening batsman and this was a very successful move. He accumulated 255 runs in 3 matches inclusive of the knock of 137 not out in the last match. So, it is likely that he would be continued in the same position in the series against India. In the recent matches against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, the Sri Lankan batting was not up to the mark. However, against Pakistan, it was satisfactory with the exception of Mahela Jayawardene. Jehan Mubarak was replaced by Thilina Kandamby and this move was also successful. Kandamby and Chamara Kapugedera would prop up the middle order. The probable team consists of Ajantha Mendis, Muttiah Muralitharan, Nuwan Kulasekara, Farveez Maharoof, Thilan Thushara, Chamara Kapugedera, Thilina Kandamby, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Sanath Jayasuriya.
India roster
It is certain that India would choose the three pace bowlers who bowled satisfactorily in Dambulla in the previous year. These are Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan. Possibly, there would be a fourth fast bowler also. As the frontline spinner, Harbhajan Singh is injured and his place would be filled by either Praveen Kumar or Pragyan Ojha. Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag would open the batting for India. Yuvraj Singh would most likely be sent at the No. 4 batting position. The probable team is comprised of Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar/Pragyan Ojha, Yusuf Pathan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina/Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
