Pakistan has won all the three One day Internationals against West Indies in Abu Dhabi. In the last match on 16th November 2008, Pakistan defeated West Indies by 31 runs. Pakistan scored 273 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with Younis Khan topscoring with 101 while Misbah-ul-Haq remaining unbeaten on 79. On the other hand, the West Indies are in need of some review prior to the New Zealand tour in December. younis khan

Initially, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Jerome Taylor and Daren Powell got good seam and swing movement, Khurram Manzoor and Younis Khan were not at ease. However, due to the poor fielding from the West Indian side, these two batsmen managed a partnership of 85 runs. Later, Misbah-ul-Haq and Khan scored freely and when Khan was out in the 42nd over, the score was 191. Later, Kamran Akmal added 21 runs.

The West Indies innings did not start satisfactorily. Sewnarine Chattergoon was out for a score of 6 in the 7th over. Then, Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan built up a good partnership in which Sarwan rotated the strike and Gayle crossed the ropes. Saeed Ajmal completed his quota of overs in one spell and restricted any free scoring. However, at the other end Shoiab Malik and Shahid Afridi fared badly. Then, Iftikhar Anjum dismissed three batsmen in two overs and Pakistan was on top. The West Indies scored 39 runs from over no. 41 to 45, but lost Gayle and subsequently the game. chris gayle
