Robert Blackwell

Alex Blackwell is an American former professional basketball player who had a brief stint in the National Basketball Association playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and a long international career.

Blackwell became one of the most decorated athletes in school history, finishing his career as a three-time First Team All-Metropolitan, All-State, and All-Northeast Conference honoree.

Professional Career

After going undrafted in the 1992 NBA Draft, Blackwell signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent. He played 27 games for the Lakers during the 1992-93 season, averaging 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.0 minutes per game.

Following his brief NBA stint, Blackwell had a long career in various leagues around the world.

He played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for teams like the Omaha Racers and Connecticut Pride, earning a selection to the All-CBA Second Team in 1996.

Blackwell's career took him to numerous countries, including Turkey, Puerto Rico, Spain, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay.

He played for over 30 different teams during his 17-year professional career, which concluded in 2009 with Universidad de Los Lagos in Chile.
