Early Life and High School Career
Kerri’s basketball journey began at Freedom High School, where she distinguished herself as a standout athlete. Under the guidance of coach Jamie Smith, she posted impressive averages of 18.4 points, 13.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 3.9 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game. Her leadership and exceptional performance were pivotal in leading her team to victory at the 2001 National AAU Junior Olympics, where she earned the MVP title. In addition to basketball, she also excelled as a middle hitter on her school's volleyball team.College Career
Kerri continued to elevate her game at Virginia Tech, where she played a crucial role in leading the women’s basketball team to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. As a senior, she achieved a notable double-double average, contributing 12.7 points and 10 rebounds per game. Her college success caught the attention of WNBA scouts, ultimately leading to her selection as the 34th overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky.Professional Journey
Despite being waived by the Sky prior to the season, Kerri persisted, later signing with the Seattle Storm. However, she faced another setback as she was waived before making her regular-season debut.
