Edward Beach Jr.

Edward Leon Beach Jr. was an American basketball player who played briefly in the National Basketball Association during the 1950-51 season. He played for the Minneapolis Lakers and Tri-Cities Blackhawks.

Beach attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, before playing college basketball at West Virginia University from 1946 to 1950.

During his collegiate career, he was named a Third-team All-American by Helms in 1948.

Professional Career

Selected 59th overall by the Minneapolis Lakers in the 5th round of the 1950 NBA Draft, Beach began his professional career with the Lakers.

He played 11 games for the Lakers and one game for the Tri-Cities Blackhawks during the 1950-51 season, averaging 1.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game.

His NBA career was cut short when he was drafted into the United States Army for the Korean War.
