Professional Career

After being undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft, Byars began his international career with Köln 99ers in Germany (2007-2008) and Chorale Roanne in France (2008). He then played for the Bakersfield Jam before joining Alba Berlin (2009-2010).

In 2010, he had brief stints with the Chicago Bulls of the NBA and Panellinios Basket in Greece.

The following years saw him alternating between the Bakersfield Jam and international teams, including Guaiqueríes de Margarita (Venezuela), Cholet Basket (France), and a second spell with Alba Berlin (2012-2013). He also had a small stint with the San Antonio Spurs in 2012.

Between 2013 and 2015, Byars played for multiple teams across Europe: Caciques de Humacao (Puerto Rico), Krasny Oktyabr (Russia), Belfius Mons-Hainaut (Belgium), and CB Sevilla (Spain). He concluded his career with stops at Maccabi Rishon LeZion (Israel), Santeros de Aguada (Puerto Rico), JA Vichy (France), and the Delaware 87ers in 2017.

He was named an NBA Development League All-Star in 2009 while playing for the Bakersfield Jam.
