Born in the United States of America, Taj Gibson is a professional basketball player who plays as a power forward. Gibson went to the Calvary Christian High School before going to the University of Southern California. Gibson was the oldest freshman in the college team, when he made his debut at the age of 22, in 2007.

Gibson was named to the Pad-10 All Freshman Team and then went on to help the team win the 2009 Pac-10 tournament title. Gibson was named to the 2009 All-Pac Tournament Team after leading the Trojans to the win. He decided to forego the final year of college and declared for the 2009 NBA Draft.

Gibson was picked at 26th overall by the Chicago Bulls.
