James Patrick Johnson is a professional basketball player from the United States of America and plays as a power forward. James, born to African and Samoan parentage, went to the Cheyenne East High School where he was a starting power forward scoring at 28 points per game with 9 rebounds. He took this performance to the Wake Forest University in 2007, and was their starting power forward for two years before declaring for the NBA Draft.
At Wake Forest University, Johnson was named to the All-ACC Third Team in his freshman season and was second in the 2008 ACC Rookie of the Year race. He was incredible on court, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. Johnson was an obvious choice in the All-ACC Rookie First Team.
In his second year in college, Johnson again led the team in rebounding and helped the team get to a 24-5 record as well as become the number 1 ranked team during the 2008-09 season. He was again named to the All-ACC Third Team and decided to declare for the 2009 NBA Draft.
Johnson was picked at 16th overall, by the Chicago Bulls.
