Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Rafael Addison attended the Syracuse University from where he was drafted for the NBA in 1986 by Phoenix Suns.
He played a single season for the Suns (1986-87), appearing in 62 games and totaling 359 points and 106 rebounds at 5.8 ppg.
His next two seasons were with the New Jersey Nets (1991-93) where he played a total of 144 games and earned a total of 872 points and 297 rebounds.
He played his next season in Italy with the Italian Serie A League team Benetton Treviso before returning to the USA to play for Detroit Piston for a season. He featured for 79 games for the Pistons, scoring 656 points and 242 rebounds at 8.3 ppg.
From 1995-97 he played for the Charlotte Hornets, appearing for 94 games in total with 299 points and 135 rebounds, after which he retired from the game.
The 6’7’’ guard/forward has a total of 2186 career points, 780 rebounds and 339 assists to his credit.
