Roger Burkman

Roger Burkman is a former American professional basketball player who briefly played in the National Basketball Association for the Chicago Bulls. He is currently the athletic director at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.

Roger Allen Burkman was born on May 22, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America. He stands 196 cm tall and his weight was listed at 79 kg. Burkman played as a guard and he shot right.

Burkman is married to Jefferson County Circuit Judge Judith McDonald-Burkman.

High School and College Career

Burkman attended Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then played college basketball for the University of Louisville from 1977 to 1981.

At Louisville, Burkman was a member of the school's 1980 NCAA national championship team under head coach Denny Crum.

Professional Career

Burkman was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 130th overall pick in the 6th round of the 1981 NBA Draft. He played briefly for the Bulls during the 1981-82 season, appearing in 6 games.

After his short stint with the Bulls, Burkman played for the Anchorage Northern Knights of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) during the 1981-82 season.

Post-Playing Career

Following his playing career, Burkman transitioned into athletic administration. He currently serves as the athletic director at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.

In recognition of his basketball accomplishments, Burkman was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
