Rodney Buford

Rodney Buford is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association and various international leagues. He has played around a number of teams in the NBA, like the Sacramento Kings, New Jersey Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies.

High School and College Career

Buford attended Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then played college basketball at Creighton University from 1995 to 1999.

Professional Career

Selected 53rd overall by the Miami Heat in the 1999 NBA Draft, Buford began his professional career with the Heat in the 1999-2000 season.

After a brief stint in Italy with Basket Rimini, he returned to the NBA, playing for the Philadelphia 76ers (2000-2001) and Memphis Grizzlies (2001-2002).

He then moved to Greece, joining Panathinaikos for the 2002-2003 season before returning to the NBA with the Sacramento Kings in 2003. Following this, he played in Italy with Pallacanestro Virtus Roma (2003-2004) before splitting time between the Dakota Wizards and a second stint with the Sacramento Kings in 2004.

The 2004-2005 season saw him with the New Jersey Nets, after which he played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2005-2006). In 2006, he had brief stints with both Azovmash Mariupol and Maccabi Tel Aviv, returning to Azovmash Mariupol for a longer spell from 2007 to 2008.

His later career included stops in Lebanon with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (2009), Germany with Eisbären Bremerhaven (2009), China with Fukien (2010), Cyprus with Proteas EKA AEL (2010-2011), and Venezuela with Toros de Aragua (2011).

After another brief stint with Fukien and the Halifax Rainmen in 2011, he concluded his career with the London Lightning (2011-2013) in Canada.
