Quinn Buckner is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He is a 1984 NBA Champion, which he won while he was playing with the Milwaukee Bucks. He also served as a coach for the Dallas Mavericks.

High School and College Career
Buckner attended Thornridge High School in Illinois. Where he played for the Falcons. In 1972, he was named 1972 Mr. Basketball USA. In the same year, he also received All-American honors.
He went on to play collegiate basketball for the Indiana University Hoosiers, coached by Bob Knight. Whine in college, he received All-American honors. He also helped his team with the 1976 NCAA Championship.
Professional Career
He was drafted into the NBA in 1976 and was the 7th overall pick of the draft. He played with the team from 1976 to 1982. While with the team, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team four times.In 1982, he signed up to play with the Boston Celtics and was with the team from 1982 to 1985. In 1984, he was part of the Celtics team that won the NBA Championships.
His last season in the NBA was the 1985-1986 season, he played this with the Indiana Pacers.
He returned to the NBA in 1993 as a coach for the Dallas Mavericks. Buckner coached them for one season.
