Jud or Judson Donald Buechler grew up in Poway and was a student of Poway High School. He continued his education at the University of Arizona. He was a sharp shooting guard/forward.
During the 1990 NBA draft, he was drafted by the Seattle Supersonics in the 2nd round. He was the 11th pick and overall 38th pick. His draft rights were quickly traded to the New Jersey Nets. Approximately, one season was spent with the Nets and in 1991 he was waived. He wore jersey’s with numbers 35, 22, 20 and 26.
Buechler had a short stint with San Antonio Spurs. Then, he signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors. In the 1992-93 season, he had an average of 2.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 6.2 points. All these figures were career highs for him. From 1994 to 1998, he was with the Chicago Bulls. In 2001-02, he represented Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic.
Jud Buechler has participated in 720 games in the NBA out of which he has started 29 games and has received overall 8444 playing minutes. His free throw percentage was 0.633 3-point field goal percentage was 0.366 and field goal percentage was 0.433. He could accrue 2385 points, 732 personal fouls, 431 offensive rebounds and 835 defensive rebounds, 144 blocks, 314 steals and 560 assists.
