Theodoros Papaloukas is a member of the Greece national basketball team. He plays in the position of Point Guard or Point Forward.
In the past, Papaloukas has been associated with the following teams – From 1995 to 1997 with Ambelokipi, from 1997 to 1999 with AO Dafni Athens, from 1999 to 2001 with Panionios, during 2001-02 with Olympiacos and from 2003 to 2008 with CSKA Moscow.
During his career, Papaloukas has won the following awards – 35 Greatest Euroleague Players in 2008, Euroleague 2006-07 Most Valuable Player, FIBA Europe Player of the Year in 2006, 2005-06 Euroleague Final Four Most Valuable Player and Greek A2 League Most Valuable Player 1999.
Papaloukas is an important ingredient of the Greek National Basketball Team. He has the wide experience of taking part in the Eurobasket in Turkey (2001), Sweden (2003), Serbia and Montenegro (2005) and Spain (2007). During Eurobasket 2005, he led the Greece team in the quarter finals to a victory over Russia. In the semi finals, while playing against France, when 47 seconds were left in the game, Greece was down by 7 points. In such circumstances, Papaloukas managed an important comeback.
Theodoros Papaloukas has won the Gold Medal for Greece in the 2005 Serbia & Montenegro European Championships. He has won the Silver Medal for Greece in the 2006 Japan FIBA World Championships.
