Thomas Abercrombie has played for New Zealand Breakers in the 2008-09 season. He plays in the position of swingman and has a height of 6 feet 6 inches.
Abercrombie spent a year in the Washington State University basketball program. He had a stellar college career and later represented New Zealand at the 2007 World University Games. During his senior year, he was the skipper of Westlake Boys to the national secondary schools basketball title. In this year, he had an average of 2.8 steals per game, 11 rebounds per game and 20.5 points per game. For 2 continuous years, he was named New Zealand Academy of Sport High Performance Player. In 2002 and 2004, he was a winner of the WBHS Trophy for Academic and Sporting Excellence. He was a part of Andrej Lemanis first Breakers team and toured China in May 2005. Abercrombie is an all round sportsman and during a national secondary schools volleyball title was the skipper of the WBHS team.
