Chris Anstey played for Melbourne Tigers in 1994 and South East Melbourne Magic from 1995 to 1997. During the 1997 NBA draft, he was chosen by Portland Trail Blazers in the 1st round. He was the 18th overall pick. In June 1997, the Blazers traded him to Dallas Mavericks in exchange of Kelvin Cato. Further, in September 1999, the Mavericks traded him to Chicago Bulls with whom he remained till the end of 2000. In the 2001-02 season, he represented Victoria Titans.

Then, he moved to Russia and in 2003 was a member of Ural Great Perm and in 2004 and 2005 of UNICS Kazan. From 2006 till date, he plays for Melbourne Tigers in the Australian NBL.

Anstey has a height of 7 feet and weight of 253 lbs. Generally, he is a starter at Center.

Career Highlights

Chris Anstey was the NBL most improved player in 1996. In 1997, he was FIBA U/22s World Champions Team MVP. He became NBL Best Sixth Man in 2001. In 2002, he was selected as Australian International Player of the Year. In 2003, he was ULEB Cup MVP. In 2006 as well as 2008, he was honored as NBL MVP. In 2006, he was chosen as NBL Grand Final MVP.
