Marc Jackson

Marc Jackson is an American former professional basketball player who played seven seasons in the National Basketball Association. He has played for a number of NBA teams like the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets and Oklahoma City Hornets. Following his career, he became a television analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers.

High School and College Career

Jackson attended Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He played one year of college basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University before transferring to Temple University, where he played from 1995 to 1997.

At Temple, he led the team in scoring and rebounding both seasons and was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 1997.

Professional Career

Jackson was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the 1997 NBA Draft. He began his professional career overseas, playing for Tofaş Bursa in Turkey, Lobos Caja Cantabria and Cantabria Lobos in Spain, and Efes Pilsen in Turkey.

Jackson made his NBA debut with the Warriors in 2000, leading all rookies in points and rebounds and earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2001. He finished third in Rookie of the Year voting.

After two seasons with the Warriors, Jackson was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2002. He was then traded to his hometown Philadelphia 76ers in 2003, where he led the team in rebounds and was second in scoring during the 2004–05 season.

Jackson later played for the New Jersey Nets, New Orleans City Hornets / Oklahoma City Hornets, Olympiacos in Greece, UNICS Kazan in Russia, and Xacobeo Blu:sens in Spain before retiring in 2010.

After his basketball career, he became a television analyst for NBC Sports Philadelphia, covering the 76ers.
