Eric Gordon is an American-Bahamian professional basketball player currently playing for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). In 2017, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

Eric Ambrose Gordon Jr. was born on December 25, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America. He stands 190 cm tall and his playing weight is listed at 97 kg.Gordon plays primarily as a shooting guard and small forward.
He comes from a basketball-loving family. His mother, Denise, is originally from Nassau in The Bahamas. She met Eric's father, Eric Gordon Sr., at Liberty University, where Gordon Sr. played basketball and remains one of the school's top scorers.
Eric has two younger brothers who also pursued basketball careers.
Evan Gordon, the middle brother, played college basketball at Liberty, Arizona State, and Indiana. The youngest brother, Eron Gordon, played for Seton Hall and Valparaiso University.
High School and College Career
Gordon attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, where he was named Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2007. That same year, he was also named a McDonald’s All-American.He then played one season of college basketball for Indiana University in 2007–2008, where he was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Professional Career
Gordon was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 7th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He spent his first three NBA seasons with the Clippers before being traded to the then New Orleans Hornets in 2011 as part of the Chris Paul trade.In 2016, Gordon signed with the Houston Rockets, where he played a key role as a sixth man and three-point specialist. He won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2017 and was part of the Rockets team that reached the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2017, he also became the NBA Three-Point Contest Champion.
In 2023, he signed with the Phoenix Suns and in 2024, he signed with Philadelphia 76ers.
International Career
In 2023, Gordon was permitted by FIBA to represent the Bahamas National Team, due to his mother's Bahamian heritage.He played for the Bahamas in the 2024 Olympics Pre-Qualifying Tournament.
