Eric Gordon Jr. is an American professional basketball player who presently is associated with Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association. The position of Guard has been assigned to him. During the 2008 NBA draft, he was selected by Los Angeles Clippers in the 1st round. He was the 7th pick and overall 7th pick.
Eric Gordon weighs 222 lbs and is 6 feet 3 inches tall. He attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. In High School, he won Indiana “Mr. Basketball” Award in 2007. After passing out from school, he joined Indiana University.
In this University, he played one season of college basketball. In this year, he was regarded as one of the top collegiate players in the country. He ended his freshman season by leading the Big Ten by scoring 21.5 points per game. He was selected in First Team All-Big Ten and Third Team All-American in the year 2008.
Eric Gordon represented Los Angeles Clippers in the 2008-09 Season. In the 51 games that he played in, he received 1666 playing minutes. His free throw percentage was 0.876, 3-point field goal percentage was 0.371 and field goal percentage was 0.438. He accumulated 118 personal fouls, 130 assists, 123 rebounds and 732 points.
During the 2009 to 2010 Season, he joined the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend and he was also voted into the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest as well as the T-Mobile NBA Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam event. Gordon was also selected for the 2010 to 2012 USA Men’s National Team Program.
In the 2010 – 2011 Season, Gordon suffered from a sprained wrist with a bone chip fracture upon returning as a gold medalist in the 2010 FIBA World Championship. After missing 18 games, he returned but was still hampered by his existing injuries.
Gordon was traded to the New Orleans Hornets on December 14, 2011. His debut season started off bumpy as it was learned that he had a pre-existing knee injury and cartilage damage. While he was able to return to play for the remainder of the season, his injury continued to hamper his performance even after surgery.
In the 2012 to 2013 Season, Gordon was successful in making a comeback and finished the season as the franchise’s top scorer. In the 2013 to 2014 Season, the New Orleans Hornets was renamed as the New Orleans Pelicans. Gordon’s all-around offense remained as an asset to the team but he was forced to miss the rest of the season due to another knee injury.
In the 2014 to 2015 Season, he missed 21 games due to a left shoulder injury. Upon his return, he had the best long-range shooting average of his career. He helped the Pelicans make it to the playoffs.
Gordon was able to play in all the games of the 2015 to 2016 Season. However, he had another injury to his shooting hand and had a successful injury. Gordon returned to the hard court after missing 16 games but he reinjured his finger again and was sidelined for the rest of the season.
He transferred to the Houston Rockets on July 9, 2016. He recorded a career-high eight three-pointers in a game against the Lost Angeles Lakers on December 7, 2016. Gordon also won the Three-Point Contest during the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend. He became the first Rockets player to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award.
During the 2017 to 2018 Season, he had a season-high 33 points and a career-high eight 3 pointers in a victory against the Chicago Bulls.
