Brandan Wright
Brandan Wright was a professional basketball player from the United States of America and played as a power forward.
Wright attended the University of North Carolina after graduation from high school in 2006. He was with the team only for one season and outshone teammates and opponents with a 14.7 points per game percentage with 6.2 rebounds per game and 1.8 blocks. His first 18 games saw Wright score in double figures with the North Carolina Tar Heels and that made him only the second freshman to do after Rashad McCants.
Wright became the third freshman from the Tar Heels to win the ACC Freshman of the Year award for 2007. He was also picked to the All-Freshman team and was the MVP in the 2007 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament.
In early 2007, Wright decided to register for the NBA Draft and let go of his remaining three years in college. The Charlotte Bobcats picked him up at 8th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. He was immediately traded out to the Golden State Warriors for Jason Richardson as well as Jermareo Davidson.
Wright began his journey with the Warriors with a 2-year deal but he started the season on the disabled list. A strained right hip flexor meant that he had to sit out of practice as well as the summer league. Once activated, he was still used sparingly although he did manage to rack up a few starts to his name.
In November, against the Denver Nuggets, he had a great game scoring his current career high of 18 points with 13 rebounds as well as 3 blocks, all in just 32 minutes of play.
