Ricky Davis
Tyree Ricardo Davis, also known as Ricky Davis, is a professional basketball player from the USA. Davis was a student at the North High School and was a starter for four years. In his junior and senior years, he helped the team reach the state tournament but couldn't bring them the state championship title.
Davis went to the University of Iowa and after just one season, was picked up by the Charlotte Hornets as the 21st pick in the 1st round of the 1998 NBA Draft. Davis was with the Hornets for a couple of seasons but didn't see much in terms of playing times and was sent out to the Miami Heat in a trade that saw 9 players move back and forth.
At Miami, Davis only played 7 games before injuring his ankle. By 2001, he was on his way to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers had offered Davis a 6-year contract but he was constantly having arguments with the head coach, Paul Silas. Ricky Davis soon became known as a selfish player and a show-boater. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Ricky Davis out to the Boston Celtics along with Chris Mihm and Michael Stewart and a second round draft pick. Tony Battie, Eric Williams and Kedrick Brown came over to their side.
At Boston, Davis often played as a shooting guard and sometimes, was also the small forward for the team. He improved his shooting game and transformed into an excellent rebounder over the years. Four seasons later, Davis was traded out to the Minnesota Timberwolves but a year later, he was moving again, this time to the Miami Heat.
In 2008, he signed a multi-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
